Frequently Asked Questions

Get the answers to the questions we hear most often from new patients at RXN Performance. If your question is not here, book a free discovery call and we will happily talk through it with you.

About the Discovery Call

Q: Is the discovery call really free?

A: Yes. The discovery call is completely free, takes about 15-20 minutes, and there is no pressure to book further care. It is how we make sure we are a good fit before you commit to anything.

Q: What happens on the discovery call?

A: You will talk with Dr. Ryan about what is bothering you, what you have already tried, and what you want to get back to doing. He will tell you honestly whether we are the right next step — if we are not, he will point you toward someone who is.

Q: Is the discovery call done in person or by phone?

A: By phone or video. It is a conversation, not a treatment visit.

About Treatment

Q: Do I need a doctor referral to see you?

A: No. You can come straight to us — no doctor referral or PT note needed.

Q: How long does a typical treatment session take?

A: One hour. That matters — most chiropractic clinics run 10-minute appointments. Our hour-long sessions let us actually look at how you move, do hands-on work, and walk you through specific exercises.

Q: How long until I feel better?

A: Most patients feel meaningful improvement within 2-4 visits. Full return to your sport, training, or daily life usually takes 6-8 weeks of consistent work — longer if the issue has been around for years. We will set an honest expectation at your discovery visit.

Q: Will I need to keep coming forever?

A: No. RXN is built on a clear progression: get out of pain, rebuild strength and function, then transition to maintenance or discharge. Many patients come in for periodic tune-ups every 6-12 weeks as needed, but the goal is your independence.

About Insurance and Cost

Q: Do you take insurance?

A: We are an out-of-network practice. That lets us spend a full hour with you instead of being forced into 10-minute visits to make insurance economics work. Many patients submit a superbill (which we provide) to their insurance for partial reimbursement.

Q: Do you accept FSA/HSA?

A: Yes, chiropractic care is generally a qualified expense for both FSA and HSA accounts.

What Makes RXN Different

Q: How is RXN different from a regular chiropractor?

A: Traditional chiropractic often focuses on quick adjustments and short visits. RXN is built for active people who want lasting results — we combine chiropractic with movement assessment, soft-tissue work, and rehab so you do not end up back here every two weeks.

Q: How is RXN different from physical therapy?

A: Physical therapy is great for the initial healing after an injury or surgery. Performance rehab at RXN picks up where PT ends — rebuilding strength, mobility, and movement quality for full return to your activity, sport, or work.

Q: Do you work with athletes returning from surgery?

A: Yes, once you are cleared by your surgeon and have completed initial post-op PT. Common scenarios: ACL reconstruction returns, post-shoulder surgery returns, post-disc surgery returns.

About Your First Visit

Q: What should I bring to my first visit?

A: Comfortable clothes you can move in (gym clothes are perfect). If you have recent imaging (X-ray, MRI), bring it. Otherwise, just yourself.

Q: Where are you located? Is there parking?

A: We are inside Switch Fitness at 4812 Bryan Street in Uptown Dallas. Parking is available on Bryan Street and in the building lot. The front desk will direct you when you arrive.

Q: What is your phone number?

A: (214) 247-6199. We answer during business hours.
