Post-Surgical Rehab in Dallas

Surgery is sometimes the right call — but it is rarely the end of the story. The work between hospital discharge and getting back to your sport, training, or full daily life is where lasting outcomes are won or lost. At RXN Performance in Uptown Dallas, we work with active adults coming back from common orthopedic surgeries who want a structured progression back to performance.

What is post-surgical rehab at RXN?

Post-surgical rehab is the layer of work that picks up after your initial physical therapy and surgical clearance. The goal is not just to get you out of pain or restored to baseline daily function — it is to return you to full performance for the activities you actually care about: running, lifting, competing, working, or just keeping up with kids without flaring up.

What surgeries do we work with?

How does this differ from physical therapy?

Physical therapy gets you out of post-op deficits and back to basic function. That work is essential. Post-surgical rehab at RXN picks up where PT typically discharges: rebuilding the strength, capacity, and movement quality required to fully return to your sport or training. We coordinate with your surgical team and PT when appropriate.

What does a typical plan look like?

  1. Initial assessment with your surgical history, current status, and clearance documentation.
  2. Manual therapy and soft-tissue work to address restrictions left behind by surgery and the rehabilitation process.
  3. Progressive strength and movement work built specifically for what you are returning to.
  4. Sport-specific or activity-specific loading in the final phase of return.
  5. Return to performance and discharge with a maintenance plan.

How long does post-surgical rehab take?

It depends on the surgery and your starting point. Most returns we work with take 3-6 months of structured work to get fully back to pre-injury performance, sometimes longer for complex cases. We set expectations honestly at the discovery visit.
